First Houston Muslim & Christian Summer School
July 24th - 30th
a one-week intensive program that brings the next generation of Muslim and Christian religious, social, and educational leaders together to learn about each other's faith from fellow students and from participating scholars.
Thursdays 7-9 p.m.
Studying texts from the Qur'an and the Bible.
Tea is served from 6.30 p.m., and we have dinner and ongoing conversation from 9 p.m.

Research and Writing for Muslim-Christian Studies
You can do this start-any-time course at your own pace. It is free of charge and includes the compulsory pre-requisite for students who wish to gain CMCS Houston credit for other courses.
CMCS Houston Certificate in Muslim & Christian Studies
Students who have satisfactorily completed at least one of our online classes for credit are eligible to enroll for our 'Certificate in Muslim & Christian Studies'. This is a graduate level certificate which requires at least 15 credit hours from CMCS Houston or from our collaborating institutions.

Research and writing
Summer time is time for research, writing and travel.
Ida Glaser will be working with Azadeh Rezaie on the editing of the 'Reading Daniel in Islamic Context' volume. She will also be helping with finalising an volume on the Gospels in Islamic context.
Motaz al-Thaher will be presenting a paper on al-Farahi's views of the Bible at a conference in Amman.
Ida Glaser will be travelling to Oxford to chair a panel discussion on 'Shabbir Akhtar and the Bible' at CMCS Oxford.

Religious studies should be dialogues not monologues. You need to enroll with others in discussions and dialogue, and the CMCS courses provide this. They include a very special combination of people from different religious backgrounds and cultures, who enrich the discussion and help [in] gaining knowledge and opening eyes to new perspectives. Moreover, the follow-up from the lecturers gives you the chance to develop your skills personally.
